I have never understood why this line is called “Cheap and Chic.” I’d like to think it’s supposed to be ironic, but I doubt any couture line is that self-aware. So to people who can’t afford it, the name is annoying, and to people who can, it just means they have a thousand dollar blazer with the word “cheap” on the label.
Nice jacket though.

Totally agree abut their ridiculous name. And about this being a gorgeous jacket. It looks even better in the close-up shots on the MC&C website, the fabric is the finest possible pinstripe, beautiful. The elbow photo shows some of what you get when you pay more – the grosgrain is perfectly mitered and stitched, so it lies flat and smooth; the pinstripes in the sleeve seam come together aligned, the way they’re supposed to. You could wear this forever. Question: for a conservative office, would you buy a size larger than the model is wearing?

I would not wear this at my conservative office. it wouldn’t be appropriate.

I really wish cropped-length sleeves would go away. I know people think it’s cute, but to me it seems that the jacket is just too small. The model doesn’t even look good in it.

I’m a little bit perplexed by the comment regarding this being inappropriate for a conservative office. Why? The cropped sleeves? The grosgrain?
NB
I’m not dcm58, but the contrast grosgrain, the color and especially the cropped sleeves make it seem inappropriate to me.
